For my reflection on the Vignelli Canon, I would say there are a lot of neat concepts and interesting thoughts all throughout it. I love how it is set up. There are so many different facts and just great descriptions of each concept. The pictures that go along with it just help me understand even better. I have never really thought deep into this stuff but now I have learned much more just from reading this. They said that semantics basically means to understand the subject in all aspects. Which makes sense, understanding everything about what you are doing helps open your mind to become more creative.
One of my favorite ones that is talked about is discipline. I have always thougt discipline can take you a long way and it is described well here. They said that paying attention to every detail requires a lot of discipline. I can see this because it is hard to look closely to every single little detail, you might just want to skim over it or not worry about some things, but that can hurt you in the future. Another big one is responsibility.
In part two he talked about the tangibles. There was so much detail in this. It showed me just how many different aspects there are in design. I never would have thought this much went into it. From paper size to grids and columns, all the way to type size relationships and how they compare to each other. There was so much learned from reading this.
